1.

Vehicle Prep (relocate gas tank vent hose)

1.0 Raise the bed and secure. Remove both seats by tilting them forward and removing the 13mm bolts under each seat (4 per seat) (see fig. 1.0). Per fig. 1.0.1, remove five 10mm bolts and washers holding the plastic cover in place. Fig. 1.0.2 shows the plastic cover tilted forward to expose the vent hose that must be removed from the driver's side hip restraint tubing (note: step 7.1 requires drilling through this metal tubing). NOTE: save all hardware for re-installing plastic cover and seats when done re-routing the hose.

Vehicle Prep (relocate gas tank vent hose) cont'd.

1.1 Carefully pull the loose end of the vent hose through and out of the seat and support tube. Re-route the vent hose and use the supplied adhesive backed cable tie holder and cable tie to secure to the frame on the driver's side (underneath the lip). See figures 1.1, 1.1.1, and 1.1.2. NOTE: the adhesive backed cable tie holder should be applied to a clean, dry surface at room temperature. Route the remaining portion of the vent hose through the bottom frame underneath the bed and cut to desired length. Ref.: approximately two feet can be cut off. Using all of the original equipment hardware removed in step 1.0, re-install the plastic cover and both seats.

2.

Vehicle Prep (hood removal)

2.0 Remove the hood of the vehicle by grabbing the two outside lower corners where the molded triangular marks are located and pull (with a moderately firm effort) to release the clips. See figures 2.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.2 below.

3.

Install bracket

3.0 Per fig. 3.0, identify the center frames as well as the vertical flange on the passenger's side. 3.1 Per fig. 3.1, install the bracket (which is supplied in the hardware kit) onto the center frames making sure that the notch in the bracket is up against the vertical flange located towards the passenger's side of the vehicle as shown.

3.

Install bracket (cont'd.)

3.2 Once the bracket is properly located, clamp or hold the bracket in place and carefully drill two 9/32" diameter holes. Use the holes in the bracket as a template to drill through the center frames. See fig. 3.2. 3.3 Fasten each side of the bracket securely to the center frames using the following supplied hardware: two 1/4-20 x 1 1/2" long hex head bolts and two 1/4-20 locknuts. See fig. 3.3.

4.

Drill hood

4.0 Per fig. 4.0, position the cardboard template on the top exterior surface of the hood so the arrow points left and the back edges and tabs line up with each other as shown. Clamp the template in place and drill two 9/16" holes through the plastic hood. 4.1 Remove and discard the cardboard template. See fig. 4.1.

5.

Re-install hood

5.0 Per figures 5.0 and 5.0.1, re-install the plastic hood by lining up the two threaded studs on the previously installed bracket with the newly drilled 9/16" holes in the hood. Note: push the welded nuts through the 9/16" holes. 5.1 Press the hood back into place by re-engaging the two corner clips that were released in step 2.0. See fig. 5.1.

6.

Install front supporting frame

6.0 Per figures 6.0 and 6.0.1, install the front supporting frame onto the exposed threaded studs so that the top two ends of tubing point towards the rear of the vehicle as shown specifically in fig. 6.0.1. Secure in place using two 5/16" locknuts. 6.1 Install two nut covers (not shown).

7.

Install rear supporting frames

7.0 Tip the seat forward as shown in fig. 7.0. Clamp the driver's side rear supporting frame in place as shown. The square tubing should be exactly behind the round tubing of the hip restraint so that the welded bracket is up against the outside surface of the hip restraint tubing. Take an inside dimension from the ground (not the vehicle) up to the first inside edge of the square support frame tubing. See figures 7.0.1 and 7.0.2. Adjust the clamping location as necessary until 65" is obtained. Repeat for passenger's side.

7.

Install rear supporting frames (cont'd.)

7.1 Using the holes in the welded bracket as a template, mark the hole locations then visually transfer these marks to the opposite (inside) surface of the hip restraint tubing in order to have room for drilling. Remove the clamp and rear support tubing for ease of drilling. NOTE: per Vehicle Prep step 1.0, be sure gas tank vent hose has been re-routed from the driver's side hip restraint tube before drilling. Drill 11/32" diameter holes through the hip restraint tubing from inside the vehicle as shown in fig. 7.1. 7.2 Mount the rear support tubing to the hip restraint tubing using 1/4-20 x 1 1/4" long carriage bolts and locknuts. The head of the carriage bolt should be closest to the seat (locknuts towards the outside of the vehicle due to clearance issues). Install optional nut covers. 8. Install Canopy Top

8.1 Install the canopy top so that the seam of the exterior trim is facing the rear of the vehicle. Line up the holes in the canopy with the holes in the front and rear frames. The frames mount to the inside surface of the canopy. See fig. 8.1.
