COMPANY PROFILE The Athlete's Foot (www.theathletesfoot.com), the world's first franchisor of athletic footwear stores is recognized today as the world's leader in athletic footwear franchising. The Athletes Foot (TAF) is building a total brand experience that includes a new look and feel, a new retail design, great marketing and promotion, a TAF branded apparel program, and community building initiatives--all created to insure that TAF performs at the highest level for its customers, brand partners and franchisees.

I. SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing supports the Marketing Team with both brand and local store (franchise) marketing. He/She is responsible for the development and execution of all marketing programs, timelines and details from creative development through in store usage. He/She has a close interaction with the all members of the TAF merchandising and operations departments. He/She works closely with external vendors in formulating sales building programs for Franchisees. He/She manages budgets and the printing and fulfillment company to ensure that marketing materials are printed in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner. The Director of Marketing handles key sales driven projects as assigned by the SVP Brand Marketing.

I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develops overall marketing strategy and annual calendar in conjunction with SVP Brand Marketing. Protects consistency of brand positioning through all internal and external communications. Develops and monitors monthly national budgets in conjunction with SVP Brand Marketing. Manages all national marketing programs from creative development through in-store delivery. Responsible for Local Store Marketing programs and toolkits for Franchisees. Develops and presents marketing programs/key data to various TAF functional departments. Responsible for securing print production bids, approving printing proofs and ensuring that materials are delivered on time. Manages marketing relationships with key vendors such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok,etc. Manages deliverables from PR and Advertising Agencies. Manages new content for website. Develops internet programs including E-mail and other customer recruitment and retention programs.

Responsible for delivering excellent customer service to franchisees, responding to phone and e-mail contact within 24 hours. Prompt response time on requests that require follow up or additional material delivery. Responsible for writing and editing the monthly email newsletter. Keeps log of competitive activities by visiting store locations, reviewing press clippings and internet research. Maintains education of sales team regarding new and on-going marketing activities to aid in selling franchises. Helps develop TAF marketing training curriculum that helps our Franchisees be set up for success & reach sales goals

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Director of Marketing will supervise the Marketing Coordinator, as well as any interns that the department hires. Key Working Relationships: Reports to SVP Brand Marketing. Works closely with all internal TAF departments and NexCen Franchise Management teams.

II. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE & OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided. 1. Education ­Preferably MBA or Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, English or other applicable degree, and/or equivalent experience. 2. Experience ­ 7-10 years of Marketing Experience. 3. Skills and abilities ­ Relationship management skills Can produce and deliver presentations internally/externally Ability to interact with senior staff Strong affinity for maintaining budgets Strong writing experience-- a must! Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks with varying deadlines. A master multi-tasker Ability to flourish in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. 4. Computer programs ­ Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Adobe Acrobat or Illustrator preferred. 5. Willing and able to travel
