NHL DEPTH CHARTS

For the first time ever, my NHL Depth Charts feature has reached the end of a regular season. It was great to see these charts slowly grow from month to month, as we added close to 10 goalies over the course of the season. That also includes the two most recent additions, Pat Nagle (TBL) and Jason Missiaen (NYR). As we see at the end of every regular season, a number of prospects shifted leagues in order to bolster depth. Anaheim shipped Igor Bobkov to Syracuse and Buffalo recalled Jhonas Enroth for a handful of meaningful playoff push games. Calgary signed Joni Ortio and gave him one start in Abbotsford. Columbus signed Allen York and watched him tear it up in Springfield in early-April. A few other prospects were signed to entry-level or one-year deals as well. Colorado signed Calvin Pickard and shipped him to Lake Erie for their first-ever playoff appearance. Minnesota signed German prospect Dennis Endras and expect him to fight for a role with the Wild or Aeros next season. Phoenix signed Team Canada stand-out Mark Visentin to an entry-level contract as well. As far as the two new NHL prospects are concerned, the Rangers signed the former Canadiens draft pick Missiaen as a long-term project for goalie coach Benoit Allaire. In Tampa Bay, Steve Yzerman bolstered an already deep goalie system by adding former Ferris State University standout Nagle. Finally, in San Jose, two prospects came from Europe to North America. Thomas Greiss, who had a very poor performance in the Swedish Elite League playoffs, cleared waivers and joined the Sharks for their playoff run. Harri Sateri, who played well for Tappara this year, performed well in seven AHL games for Tappara as well. A special thanks to you all for using our NHL Depth Charts as a resource for NHL goaltending depth and enjoy the NHL and AHL playoffs! ~ Justin Goldman

A reduced role of 61 games ended with a 35-22-3 record and 2.24 GAA (6th). Just like last year, he finished with three straight wins - ended up 11-8-3 overall. Stellar, surprising rookie season finished 23-12-1 with 4 SO's and a 2.25 GAA. The AHL's Goalie of the Month in March regained the starting job in Manchester. The kid couldn't do any better than a 32-7-8 record and 2.60 GAA in the QMJHL. In just 51 games, he went 22-23-5 with a 2.66 GAA but a solid .916 save %. Posted a 15-11-3 record, a 2.71 GAA and matched Backstrom's .916 save %. There have been no real updates on Harding's condition, still very much on IR. His strong play in March and 13-5-2 record at home led the Aeros to the playoffs. Went just 4-1-0 in eight games for Houston and will back up Hackett in playofs. The WHL stud went 45-12-5 with a terrific 1.86 GAA and 13 shutouts this year. Signed a contract with the Wild and could possibly be Backstrom's new backup. Finished the regular season with a 2.30 GAA and .911 save % in 26 total games.
