ABOUT OUR GUEST COACHES

Henk Mariman Henk is currently the Academy Director of Club Brugge of Belgium. He joined them in 2007 having been a Director of a regional development centre for the world famous Ajax of Amsterdam. Henk has written numerous coaching articles in Holland and has recently published a global series of coaching books titled "The Soccer Method" Rodolfo Rodriguez Rodolfo is a National coach with a degree in football training at the superior German Sport University in Cologne, Germany. He has worked as a coach of Newell's Old Boys and Boca Juniors among other famous clubs back home in Argentina. Rodolfo has developed several soccer academies in the USA and has worked as part of their U/17 recruitment staff. Currently he is the co-Director at one of River Plate's Academies in Buenos Aires. Facundo Alfaro Currently Facundo is the Youth Academy Director of the world famous River Plate in Argentina, overseeing all age groups from 6-18 years old. He has a wealth of experience having worked with such prestigious clubs in Germany such as Bayer Leverkussen and Borussia Monchengladbach. Facundo has also gained knowledge of the US market having set up various development centers around the country. Javier Perez Javier is currently Director of Coaching for the New York soccer club. He coached for 6 years at Real Madrid in the development centre and worked at the Spanish FA as part of the management team for the Master License for senior coaches. He holds a UEFA PRO license from the Spanish FA and a UEFA "A" license from the English FA. Javier earned a PhD in exercise physiology monitoring the heart rate for youth soccer players at Real Madrid. He also holds an MPhil in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Masters Degree in Sports Science and a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. Jeff Bookman Jeff is currently Chelsea's Head of International Youth Soccer Development, overseeing the coach education and player development program at all partner clubs across the USA. He is a UEFA "A" Licensed coach as well as a qualified coach educator at level 2 for the English FA. Jeff is a former professional and schoolboy International player, and has been with Chelsea FC Academy for 10 years. He was a founder coach at The David Beckham Academy and now Jeff is a director of Inside Soccer and the new Technical Director at New York Soccer Club. Markus Rüdt Markus is an "A" license coach currently working at VFB Stuttgart in Germany. He was a former National Team player representing Germany at U17 & 18 before completing his studies at Universities in Barcelona and Bayreuth in Germany. Markus has been the head coach for various age groups at Stuttgart since 2004 and now heads their education and welfare dept.

Claudio Reyna Claudio was the captain of the United States national team before retiring from international football following the USA's exit from the 2006 World Cup. He's widely considered one of the greatest players the United States has ever produced. His distinguished playing career included several appearances with German clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg, EPL clubs Sunderland, Manchester City and a spell with Scottish Premier champions Glasgow Rangers. He retired in 2008 after returning to the US with the Red Bulls and has recently taken on the role of Youth Technical Director with the USSF with responsibilities for developing the next generation of young American players.

Oscar Fernandez Oscar is an experienced coach both in youth and professional soccer and has been at Valencia CF since 2006. Over the past 4 seasons he dazzled Spanish soccer with his U19s side winning the Spanish youth league ahead of giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. In the same season his team earned a runners-up position at the Spanish cup. The following season Oscar lead the reserve team to promotion into the segunda B division and made his La Liga debut as caretaker manager of the Valencia first team.

Tracey Kevins Tracey gained her UEFA 'A' License in 2004 and has since worked with various girls' teams in the UK. At her current club, Barnet FC, she has seen her team promoted for the 2nd successive year. Tracey is also assistant to the England National U/17 girls team and her work there has seen her travel to all parts of the world for tournaments and seminars

Guillermo Valencia Guillermo Valencia possesses professional playing experience, both nationally and internationally as a goalkeeper for America de Cali (1990-95), Cartago Futbol Club (1995) and Deportivo Pereira (19962000) in his native Colombia. He also played for soccer clubs in America before turning his attention to coaching. He now works as a specialist coach with various clubs as well as assisting with the US National U/17 goalkeepers.

On behalf of Inside Soccer, the New York Soccer Club and Manhattanville College, we welcome you. Manhattanville is set on 100 beautiful acres in prosperous and thriving Westchester County. This college campus offers the spaciousness and leisurely pace of a suburban location, along with the excitement of New York City, only a 30-minute train ride away.

Directions to Manhattanville Facilities

2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, N.Y. 10577 From South: Take Deegan Expressway/New York State Throughway (I-87) north to Exit 8. Follow the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) East to Hutchinson River Parkway. Head north on Hutchinson River Parkway to Exit 27 (in New York, not Connecticut) at Route 120 (Purchase Street). Turn left onto Purchase Street and follow to campus entrance on left. From West: Take the Tappan Zee Bridge (I-287) and continue on the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) East to Exit 8E (Westchester Ave.). Take second left onto Anderson Hill Road. Make right at first traffic light (Purchase Street) and proceed to campus entrance on right. From North: Take Taconic State Parkway South to Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) East, then follow all directions above from the west. Commercial Vehicles to Manhattanville's Campus: The Hutchinson River Parkway, Taconic State Parkway, Saw Mill Parkway, Merritt Parkway, Sprain Brook Parkway and Bronx River Parkway all have severe height clearance limitations and DO NOT permit most commercial vehicles. As an alternate route, use I-87 from the south or west, or I-95 from the east, to I-287 and follow directions above. From the north, use I-684 south, get off at Exit 2 (Westchester Airport) and follow Route 120 South/Purchase Street to campus.
