Throughout history, people have enjoyed quilts for many different reasons. Quilts provide clues to the past. Quilts provide warmth. Quilts provide beauty and value. Quilts provide heritage. And finally, quilts provide enjoyment from working with color, texture, and pattern. Find your own joy! Gather together a minimum of three or more friends, or soon to be friends, and let us know any particular class you would like to take. We will do our very best to accommodate your request as soon as we can! Wow...just think...let your imagination run wild! Dream up something fun and we'll try to make those dreams a reality! Let's all do our part to keep our rich, quilting heritage alive and well and continuing to grow!

Our Quilter's Attic Sampler for 2012 begins in January! This offering is always popular, but more so now because SSS we have made it easier for YOU! You pay $12.00 to start the year and receive your January block, unless you Specials only have your completed top from last year, in which case you get to sign up for free! For the rest of the year, available on 2nd you can pick up your monthly blocks beginning on the second Thursday or second Saturday (whichever Saturday or 2nd comes first) and ANYTIME thereafter! Now, for the rules for 2012 ­ we are NOT going to make you bring in your completed block ­ we are NOT going to make you pick up your own block (anyone can pick it up for Thursday you) ­ and we are NOT going to charge you any additional monthly fee! That has made things easier on everyone! There are only two rules. 1. If you want a second block (or more), you'll pay $5.00 each month for January 2012 ­ December 2012. 2. We will have demos and specials on the second Thursday from 1 pm ­ 8 pm and the second Saturday from 10 am ­ 4 pm. The demos and specials will be only available on those days during the listed times. This year we're doing a sampler in yummy pinks and browns. (Only one free block per person, per month). Each month you receive a pattern and enough fabric to complete each block! Ask us if you have questions about this extremely popular offering.

Civil War Chronicles ­ Complete Kits Available NOW!

If you enjoy history, this quilt is for you! The 150th anniversary of the Civil War was in 2011 - be a part of the commemoration of this event with the Civil War Chronicles. The fabric for this stupendous king-size quilt has a varied palette of browns, reds, blues, greens, beiges, plums and cheddars. Each block includes interesting, well researched historical perspectives from the viewpoint of twelve generals' wives that reflect both sides of the War. Who were the women married to these leaders, and what sacrifices did they endure on the home front as their husbands went off to war? Quilters will enjoy learning about these interesting women as they construct their own work of art. The complete kit is $300. Call the shop or come in to purchase your kit NOW - kits are limited.

Class Schedule and Descriptions:

To help you know which classes would be best for your skill level we use thread spools to classify class levels. Just remember, if you have questions about any of the classes, or your abilities, our employees will be happy to talk with you as you decide which offerings to take. See boxes below each month's calendar for explanations and look for the spools beside the names of the classes. Judy Niemeyer has done it again! This 30" x 104" bed runner can be created using those great little packages of Bali Pops or Tonga Treats we all love to collect. We have lots of new packages to choose from ­ or cut your own favorite fabrics into 2 ½ " strips. Join Fran as she teaches you this awesome method of paper-piecing that we all love so much ­ talk about your accuracy! After this class we know you'll want to tackle one of Judy's larger projects. Bali Bed Runner ­

This book is a history book, quilting guide, and touching tale of the love shared by Civil War soldiers, their sweethearts and families. It is worth buying for the reading alone! It has 121 different blocks along with actual letters that inspired them. You must come see the gorgeous blocks this group is amassing ­ they will make you want to start your own! Cotton Club ­ We began this brand new Block-of-the-Month in September 2011. This gorgeous quilt offering is from Bonnie Blue Quilts with a fabric line designed by Marcus Brothers. It contains 45 small 5" blocks in an onpoint setting done in warm, inviting rich reds, madder, turkey reds, as well as browns. The finished size is 78" x 85". This BOM will last for twelve months. We have a limited number of complete kits available for $300.00 . The kit cost includes a FREE monthly class. Dear Jane Quilt ­ Our Dear Jane Club continues. It is not too late to join us! Kathy Stuard will break this quilt down into monthly lessons where you will be making "Baby Janes", reproductions of the original quilt by Jane Stickle. The club will last approximately three years but at the end you will have a completed heirloom! Yours could be done in traditional Civil War fabrics or anything else that tickles your fancy! In 1922, a very popular magazine, The Farmer's Wife, held a contest asking one simple question: "Would you want your daughter to marry a farmer?" Using top letters from the contest as her inspiration, Author Laurie Hird created 111 traditional, 6" quilt blocks, and put them on point, giving us this wonderfully nostalgic quilt design. The book shares the touching letters and gives the layouts for each of the blocks. Join Kathy as she guides you on the journey toward the creation of another heirloom. Sylvia's Bridal Sampler ­ In Jennifer Chiaverini's novel, The Master Quilter, from the Elm Creek Quilter's series, she describes a Bridal Quilt made for Sylvia Bergstrom Compson. Their efforts resulted in a beautiful quilt. Make your own sampler quilt to celebrate whatever you find joy in ­ a beloved family member, or simply the joy of life. Make yours in batiks, two or three favorite colors or as scrappy as your desire. We have a limited number of kits available in batiks ­ sign up to reserve your kit now. Join Tammy on this journey making only 5 to 6 blocks per month. Before you know it, you'll have your own sampler celebration! Bits & Pieces of News from Quilter's Attic... Sewn-n-Love ­ Meet with a group of people who want to give something back to those in need.

The more people we have at these meetings, the more quilts we can have for distribution. Bring a sack lunch if you plan to be here for an extended period of time. Even if you can't attend, we can use you to help cut, piece, quilt, or bind quilts at home. You do not have to be here the entire time, come for however long you can ­ we would love to have you. that if you have taken a class from us, but did not finish your quilt project during the class, then you may

attend the same class when it is offered again for FREE! There are a few conditions ­ whenever the class is scheduled again, it will be cancelled if we do not have a new student sign up for the class. Please sign up and let us know you are repeating the class. Be sure to check with us to be sure there is a new student before attending the class. Also, because the class will be free for returning students, they will not receive a class discount for repeated classes.

Inclement Weather Policy:

Classes may be cancelled (and will be rescheduled) if schools are out in either Davidson or Sumner County. We will open the store when we can get staff there. If the roads are bad, before coming to shop, please call the store at 615-859-5603 to be sure we are there and open. We do not want to put any of our staff or customers at risk.

We offer Personalized Kit Construction. If you don't like to pick out your own fabric or are strapped for time, pick out any pattern (even one that didn't come from our shop), tell us what color scheme you want (or just leave it up to us), and we'll do the work for you! While many of the exact fabrics used in our store samples are no longer available, we'll get as close as possible, if that's what you want. If you are not happy with what we pick out, you are under no obligation to purchase the kit. Just tell us what you don't like and we will adjust fabrics until you are satisfied. Once you have approved our choices, we will happily cut your very own custom-made kit for you! This service is FREE and is available as often as you like! Let us help you make quilting more enjoyable for YOU! This service is available for all you out-of-towners too ­ we are happy to ship anything you want. It's like a special present just for you!

Fran Sargent has been selected by Judy Niemeyer from a large group of applicants as an expert quilting instructor! She will be certified annually to teach Judy's techniques. Fran will be available

for quilt shops, quilt guilds, and conferences. Contact our shop for information if you are interested in having Fran teach a workshop for you.
