Sylvia's Bridal Sampler In Jennifer Chiaverini's novel, The Master Quilter, from the Elm Creek Quilter's series, she describes a Bridal Quilt made for Sylvia Bergstrom Compson. Sylvia's friends, family and former students made 6" blocks to represent what Sylvia means to each of them. Many blocks were accompanied by heartfelt letters expressing abiding friendship and admiration. Their efforts resulted in a beautiful quilt that celebrates the joy of Sylvia's marriage as well as the bonds of friendship. Make yours in batiks, two or three favorite colors or as scrappy as your desire. We will have a limited number of kits available in batiks sign up to reserve your kit now. There are a few conditions whenever the class is scheduled again, it will be cancelled if we do not have a new student sign up for the class. Also, because the class will be free for returning students, they will not receive a class discount for repeated classes. We have a Special Request for those of you reading this newsletter. Please suggest or request classes that you would like us to offer. If you and two others want a specific class taught, we will make it happen, if at all possible! Ask for the request form at the front counter. We want to serve you and are looking forward to all of your requests! We offer Personalized Kit Construction. If you don't like to pick out your own fabric or are strapped for time, pick out any pattern (even one that didn't come from our shop), tell us what color scheme you want (or just leave it up to us), and we'll do the work for you! While many of the exact fabrics used in our store samples are no longer available, we'll get as close as possible, if that's what you want. If you are not happy with what we pick out, you are under no obligation to purchase the kit. Just tell us what you don't like and we will adjust fabrics until you are satisfied. Once you have approved our choices, we will happily cut your very own custom-made kit for you! This service is FREE and is available as often as you like! Let us help you make quilting more enjoyable for YOU! This service is available for all you out-of-towners too we are happy to ship anything you want. It's like a special present just for you!

We are starting a new website! This has been a long time coming and is long overdue! Not only will there be a new, active website , we are planning a blog and we'll even be on facebook! (Boy, do we hope we get at least a few friends!) We even eventually will have online shopping that way when the urge hits you at 3 in the morning you can appease that overpowering desire with our site! We are EXCITED about this new phase of our vision for our (and your) quilt shop please be patient with us as we make this transition! Please let us know any suggestions or comments you have as we begin this new endeavor!

Fran Sargent has been selected by Judy Niemeyer from a large group of applicants as an expert quilting instructor! She will be certified annually to teach Judy's techniques. Fran will be available

for quilt shops, quilt guilds, and conferences. Contact our shop for information if you are interested in having Fran teach a workshop for you.
