Store in the closed original containers or in appropriately designed and constructed tanks according to AS 1940 with labels visible. Storage area should be a secure, well ventilated and bunded place away from foodstuffs or strong heat sources. Avoid conditions that may cause build up static electricity and spark discharge. Tanks that may be grounded and all electrical equipment within 10 metres of storage area should be flame rated. If spillage occurs eliminate all sources of ignition and alert the Fire Brigade and /or Spills and Disposal other emergency services of the hazard and location. If it is safe to do so stop the leak and prevent spillage from entering drains or water courses. Contain or absorb spill with a suitable absorbent such as pumice, sawdust or vermiculite and dispose of safely. Collect recoverable product into labelled containers for recycling. Collect solid residues and seal into labelled containers for disposal. Triple rinse empty containers with fresh solvent before disposal, and add rinsings to the tank mix. Empty clean containers in good condition can be returned to the manufacturer for reuse or recycling. Otherwise for disposal, destroy empty containers by breaking, crushing or puncturing them. Dispose of the containers at a local authority landfill that does not burn its refuse. If there is no local authority landfill readily available in your area, bury the containers at a depth of 500 mm or more at an approved disposal site. Do not burn empty containers or product.
