Hospitals Added Retroactively as Valid Provider Type for Some Laboratory Procedure Codes

Effective July 14, 2011, laboratory procedure codes 93017 and 93041 became benefits retroactively for services rendered by hospital providers to clients of Texas Medicaid or the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program. In addition, laboratory procedure code 93005 became a benefit retroactively for services rendered by hospital providers to clients of Texas Medicaid. The procedure codes in the following table are benefits of Texas Medicaid or the CSHCN Services Program retroactive to the effective date when rendered by the listed provider types in the outpatient hospital place of service: Procedure Code 93005 93017 93041 Effective Date 8/1/2010 12/1/2009 4/1/2010 Provider Type(s) Hospitals (long-term, limited, specialized care, private full care, emergency) Hospitals (long-term, limited, specialized care, private full care, emergency) Hospitals (long-term, limited, specialized care, private full care, emergency) Hospitals (long-term, limited, specialized care, private full care, emergency) Hospitals (long-term, limited, specialized care, private full care, emergency)
