WASHINGTON, D.C. - Donald Trump is expanding his empire into the D.C. region. He was in Sterling, Virginia on Thursday discussing plans for his latest acquisition: The Lowes Island Golf Club. The course is undergoing extensive renovations. Mr. Trump isn't revealing the purchase price, but he does say he paid cash. "The closing took place this morning effective immediately it will be called Trump National Golf Club, Washington, D.C.," said Donald Trump. The "Donald" wasted no time putting new shiny nameplates on golf carts at the golf course he just bought. In Sterling on Thursday, Trump rode a golf cart to take a look at his new 800-acre course. Trump even hinted he'll erect a waterfall along the 18th hole. "I could even see it coming in front of the green," said Trump. The Loudoun County course sits along the Potomac River and Trump says its location, location, location!

"When this is finished there will be nothing in Virginia, Maryland or D.C. even close to topping this. Take Congressional-- Congressional doesn't have a river. You need a river, and we have the river and we have the Potomac, which is the mighty Potomac, so there will be nothing that comes close to this, as you guys can see," explained Trump. Trump promises a radical makeover, a crisp white clubhouse with a ballroom, doubling the tennis courts, expanding the pool and widening the driving range. Trump says with power shifting from New York to Washington, the deal was a nobrainer. "If it was located in a different part of the world, it's possible i wouldn't have any interest. D.C. is hot. They own banks and car companies. They own everything," said Trump. Trump has no doubt a major tournament will tee off here. The Donald is also making a power play for the President to check out Trump's new green. "I'd love him to. I'm a big fan of his. I'd love for him to come out and play. It's a great course and it's close to the White House," said Trump. Trump's son, Eric who is a Georgetown University graduate will be heading up the project and actually found the deal for his father.
