STEP/TIME (Instructional Events) SET INDUCTION 10 minutes (Gaining attention)

ACTIVITIES CONTENT TEACHER 1. Teacher asks students to get into pairs. 2. Teacher instructs a member from each pair to pretend to be a well-known sports personality and then asks the other member to get some information from his/her pair using Wh-questions. 3. Teacher asks for volunteer(s) to act out their role-play. STUDENTS 1. Students get into pairs. 2. Students do a roleplaying activity and try to gather some information about the other by asking Wh-questions. 3. Students act out the role-play in front of the class.

Checking the students' general understanding of the lesson

STEP 1 15 minutes (Informing the learner of the objective) (Eliciting the performance) (Providing feedback)

Explaining the 1. Teacher task distributes Handout 1 and Checking explains the students' different types of understanding Wh-questions and of the handout their usages and and the also give teacher's examples of their explanation usage. 2. Teacher asks students to write down their own examples of Whquestions using the examples in the handouts. 3. Teacher asks some students to read out their own examples while teacher provides feedback.

Teacher asks students to provide their answers to the class and asks them to provide reasons for their answers. Also, teacher asks other students to provide other possible answers.

Teacher asks each pair to discuss and provide elaboration and examples to support their arguments in Work sheet 2.

Writing a simple dialogue

1. Teacher asks students to have a brief recap of what they have learnt during the lesson. 2. Teacher asks students to write an interview using all the Whquestions in Handout 1. Their task is to interview either a sports personality, a music or a film celebrity.

1. Students reread the handout and worksheets. 2. Students listen to and understand teacher's instruction and write down a dialogue.
