PREFACE Report 299-100-837 lists manufacturers of metallic materials whose products listed herein have been qualified under the requirements for the product as specified in the latest effective issue of the applicable specifications and approved for use by Bell Helicopter Textron (BHT) Engineering. Inclusion in this document does not release the supplier from compliance with the specification requirements. 1.1 Appendix detail Appendix I of this document contains the Material Identification for each specification. Appendix II of this document contains the approved supplier for each material ID as well as their physical address and the approving document. Approval is limited to the listed manufacturer only; mergers, name changes or other circumstances do not constitute approval of the new or acquired manufacturer's product. Products may be procured from any one of the manufacturers shown as an approved manufacturer for the product.. In addition to the manufacturers listed in this report, procurement may also be made from distributors, provided certification of compliance from the approved manufacturer accompanies the material. 2. SCOPE Metallic wrought materials such as Plate, Bar, & Tubing that are procured under Industry, Military, or Federal specifications used in the manufacture of BHTI designed Primary, Critical, Flight Safety, or Critical Safety Items (CSI) parts shall be procured from sources approved to this specification as listed in Appendix I. Superseded material specifications will be referenced in Bell Standard 170-001. The requirements of this document do not apply to castings, forgings, forging stock, BHT part numbered extrusions, Bell Material Specification metals (i.e., 299-947-XXX), or to Supplier Designed components. Bell Material Specification source approval shall be per their applicable Qualified Products List (QPL). Casting, forging, and part numbered extrusion suppliers shall be approved under the applicable Bell Process Specification (BPS) and BHT Quality Procurement Specification (QPS) 104 requirements, and Bell Material Specification when applicable. 3. REQUIREMENTS The manufacturing source shall demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements of the applicable material specification, and the capability to assure all required destructive and non-destructive tests are performed. The manufacturer shall have a quality system that ensures control of product through all manufacturing and inspection processes, and segregation of conforming and non-conforming material. Additionally, the manufacturer shall have controls to ensure that the material is manufactured in accordance to the latest specification or engineering requirements, and changes in the process are adequately monitored and controlled to ensure consistency of product. 1

Each section is arranged as follows: The first column is the Supplier's Name and Address The second column is the Material Identification. The third column is the authorization document issued for each supplier. The fourth column is the date the supplier was approved by BHT. Any processing parameter change shall be evaluated by the manufacturer to assure material integrity is not affected. All processing changes shall be documented by the manufacturer and available for review by BHT. Failure to adequately review and document processing parameters shall result in removal from Appendix II. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS Manufacturers shall have a Quality system that is compliant to International Standards Organization (ISO) 9000 or equivalent. Manufacturers approved to this specification shall be subject to initial qualification surveys and periodic audits to assure compliance to applicable requirements. 4.1.1 Certifications The approved manufacturer shall include the following with each shipment: (1) Test reports from the manufacturers "On Site" BHT approved laboratory or an approved independent laboratory that substantiate qualification and/or acceptance, when applicable. Certification of compliance signed by an authorized agent, declaring that the items conform to all requirements specified in applicable standard and/or specification documents, manufacturer's identity and lot or HEAT number and that an original copy of the accredited laboratory report, if applicable, is on file for inspection and review by BHT. 4.1.2 Distributor: The distributor shall include with each shipment: (1) (2) A copy of the Approved Manufacturer's material Certification. Certification of Compliance, signed by an authorized agent: (a) That the material was manufactured by a source listed as approved for the procured material specification. (b) The manufacturer's identity and lot or HEAT number. 2
