ohn Cunningham and Frank Christy invite you to participate in our soccer camp program for 2010. For 33 years, our camps were conducted at Bethany College, but for the fourth consecutive year the camp is relocating to Wheeling Jesuit University where Jim Regan, Bethany Alumnus and longtime NCAA Division II coach, has developed competitive soccer programs. The responses from coaches, campers and parents who have participated are positive with special recognition to convenience of travel, excellent soccer facilities, modern residence halls, Parkhurst Dining and the quality of coaching. Bethany Soccer Camps were founded and operated by John Cunningham and Frank Christy since 1974. The camps provide soccer instruction and team development opportunities to players from 8 18 in an environment that emphasizes skill improvement, team tactics, sportsmanship, positional play, conditioning with a ball and communication skills.Training sessions include: systems of play in attack and defense, set plays, man-to-man and zone defending and attacking strategies. Instruction and soccer activities are appropriate to age, skill level and game awareness. Just a few of the unique benefits that Bethany Soccer Camps deliver!

Individual players and partial teams are welcome in all three weeks. Players who attend as individuals and with partial teams are placed on a "Camp Team" and are housed together, and gain the benefits of training with an experienced Bethany Soccer Camp coach. July 1115 (Co-Ed) An instructional camp for players ages 813. Boys and girls are in separate groups, but instruction is the same for both groups. The camp is organized so that the coaching staff can provide equal attention to all campers during games and tactical sessions. Middle school and club teams benefit greatly in this week. July 18 22 (High School Girls) Coaching and soccer instruction is specific to high school girls. Games and tactics sessions are designed to accommodate female players who are serious about playing high school or competitive club soccer. Outstanding collegiate women are employed as counselors to supplement the coaching staff. July 2529 (High School Boys) A competitive camp for high school boys that emphasizes skill development, team tactics and conditioning. Training sessions are developmental and competitive, and many of the drills parallel those used by our successful collegiate coaches. Goalkeeper School (All Weeks) The Goalkeeping "School of Saves" offers intensive training in fundamental and advanced tactics and techniques.Training sessions begin in the early morning each day and follow with a second session before lunch. This permits goalkeepers the opportunity to train with camp teams in the afternoon. The "School of Saves" offers a competitive and educational experience for goalkeepers who want to move to the next level.
